R.I.P Fellow Scaff

A COMBINATION of drugs – though not lethal individually – had contributed to the death of 43-year-old Yeovil scaffolder Anthony Hopkinson, an inquest heard last week.

East Somerset Coroner Tony Williams said a mix of alcohol, methadone and diazepam at a New Year's Eve Party had caused an effect on his central nervous system which led to his death.

Mr Hopkinson had been prescribed methadone after a previous history of heroin – but the combination of that plus alcohol and diazepam found after a post mortem at Yeovil District Hospital had been contributory factors to his death, said Mr Williams.

Mr Williams ruled the cause of the death of Mr Hopkinson, who lived at Cook Road, Yeovil, was accidental.
