Work on the Lotte Site, Wilton TEESSIDE has been stopped due to recorded wind of 65

We had gusts around 90 mph over night but it seems to be slowing down a bit as it heads south. Day for the hoose I reckon.

Nitemare of a day working at Invergorden, windy as feck been doing safety work all day as rig was shut to other trades, never seen so many missing boards off scaffolds in my life all went straight in the drink haha

Last time I was up there they were still lashing the boards with wire even in the summer, times have changed.

Anyone who did survive unscathed should give themselves a big pat on the back as I am struggling to remember worse winds than that.

They still do lash the boards aom but these were 8ft cup lock batterns of the legs and the shrink wrap only got took on Tuesday so there weren't lashed, say that tho had to replace a few on the crane pedestal were the lashing had snapped clean in half mate

The battens are awkward, we don't use many just the odd bay to keep the boarding tidy and hop ups. If it was an entire job I would under sling a tube and lash them to that. I suppose you can't do much more if the boards are snapping. Invergordon is a bleak cold place.

The full job was shrink wrapped in so no need to lash them down really, of your after any boards there's a few dozen floating down the river mate lol, and you hit the nail on the head there we been underslinging and lashing the boards all afternoon mate, few well deserved beers the nite haha

Sounds like you earned a couple at least. Cold job on a day like this.

How well does the shrink wrap survive up there? I try and stay away from it round here as your asking for trouble but it will be every bit as bad up there if not worse.

Defiantly be sinking a few pal, the shrink wrap holds out spot on had no problem at all with it like I say was just the boards and the lashing mate if the rig legs were still wrapped then the boards wouldn't have moved mate that's y there weren't lashes in the first place

I suppose there's plenty of scope for ties on a rig. Maybe I have just seen 1 to many pictures of sheeted jobs lying on their erse on here.

Had a pukka day in the city doing mono all day tmrw even better........... A tin roof lol

Your hardy Bobby, don't fancy that much.

Aye mate so many ties on the rig mate which am sure u no your self , but its defo gud stuff the shrink wrapped like, well it held up last nite and the day and its fair to say a was a little bit breeze haha

I have used it once or twice but shy away from it as winter sets in. There are a few opportunities to expand but small single structures fully sheeted with nothing to tie into concerns me when even the hoose is shaking. We have used kentledge in the past but all in all it's normally more hassle than it's worth.

Your rite in wot your saying aom I Wudnt trust it on house front and backs and jobs like that coz I recon the job wud go before the shrink wrap mate unless properly tied in

Neither do I al that's the problem :laugh::laugh:

I think the wind is meant to die down before it gets to you Bobby, started snowing here as soon as the wind dropped, think I may catch up on some paperwork tomorrow. ;)
