World’s largest Victorian glass house to be restored

Horticulturalists at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, prepare the Temperate House for a five-year refurbishment of the glass house. Kew Gardens will invest over GBP34m in refurbishing world's largest Victorian glass house which opened to the public in 1863 and is grade I listed. The extensive maintenance programme will involve the removal, cleaning or replacing of all of the building's glass panes of which there are over 100,000.
