Witness appeal after fatal traffic incident in Grimesthorpe

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident on Petre Street in Grimesthorpe which resulted in a man losing his life.
Just after 1.15pm on Thursday, December 6, an orange Scania Flatbed (truck) was reported to be parked 150 metres from the junction with Petre Drive.
A green Kubota Combilift is believed to have approached the offside of the truck to remove steel with a forklift.
The driver of the truck, a 32-year-old man from Thirsk, North Yorkshire, is reported to have been standing on the rear trailer of the truck and fallen backwards. Steel scaffolding poles on the truck are believed to have fallen on top of him, causing fatal injuries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 460 of December 6, 2012.
