whats needed to work offshore ? ? ?

i know my closest training centre is in aberdeen but what exactly do i book and how , thanks lads ?!
 
i don't know for definate but i'm sure its, offshore survival course, mist & regit, i'm sure the guys that know for definate will be along soon;)
 
You need BOSIET survival and medical (get this at nutech Aberdeen) and there does seem to be a need to have MIST training (another hurdle to jump) .
When you have done the relative training and are applying for work let them know you are available at short notice , this always helps . Best of luck .
 
its quiet off aberdeen, iv just been paid off with rbg fom the buzzard platform along with 8 other scaffs. rbg are having a clearout getting rid off long timers and paying off 300+ men across the north sea capes and salamis arent taking on either. they will be wanting trades to work over xmas and new year though
 
yep ive been on for rbg just under two years and done 19 month on the buzzard during a new jacket hookup, i got my consultation phone call on friday and they said there is nothing
 
they always want people to work over christmas and new year to cover personel on holidays. they paid me of but then asked if id be available for work over the hols i told them to ram it ha just give them a ring and ask to be considered for work over christmas coz they have a list of people who ared willing to work then, 01224 215100 and speak to any of the lasses in hr
 
Hi liam how are you mate sorry to hear you got paid off pal me too i only did one week this year on the thistle been bad this year for me offshore wise was talking to genie and worked with mark ryan on the thistle as well , no work here in dublin may have to go home if i dont get sorted soon cant see me getting offshore now until after xmas and im not going to do xmas and new year for them they can ram it lol take care buddy :nuts:

pity about the buzzard was a good little earner :D mark was on deck crew but he jacked cant blame him **** that chad n them would crack me up
 
good luck then rob hope you get sorted on the pembroke job whos left on the buzzard then just core crew is it , mark was saying he wishes he was back on the buzzard as the thistle is a hell hole is genie still there :unsure:
 
he was tag man on the ps platform i heard, core crew scaffs are still there and some other lads for maintenance liam gallagher, dennis leen and craig sum1 from middlesbrough they are getting moved over to the galaxy and weve heard the new lads from the barge are taking our jobs so basically weve been screwed over typical ey haha fuckwits ahwell sh!t happens
 
scumbags rob thats what they are thats rbg for you, genie told me they had new starts working on the new platform i just cant work them out mate, just use them as they use us thats all you can do. if you go on the main forum rob there is a company looking for scaffs offshore 20 men to go off mon 11th i sent my cv will ring them 2 morrow dont know what firm it is called:D good luck
 
i would mate but havent got a clue how to work this site just signed up today, id be intrested in that so would clem and my old man. there was mostly trainees on there mate i went over a few times had 6 men stood around with 1 lad over side erecting a hanger lol alot of the jobs were a mess i been told but thats what happens when you only got trainees not knocking the lads but they musta been working blind. email me the details of that job matey if you can and il shot my cv in, im doing my advanced inspectors course in the next two weeks aswell and got my young un doing his part one on the 11th
