Hi all,

I've been trying to track down five scaffold fittings that looks like this to complete a recreational project I'm working on:

I've called round a few local scaffolding companies and the consensus seems to be that this isn't an item people would use any more so they don't stock them.

I don't suppose any of you could put me in touch with someone who might have a few of these lying around? If they're an old part, I'm sure there'll be some unloved/unused ones lurking somewhere!

Thanks in advance,
George

Never seen them in all my years on the tools , but they look great .
How about getting the a toe board clip , the type that have the 2 wings and a grinder and hammer and away you go

'Offshore scaffold sales' have them on their website. I hunted them down a couple of years ago but never actually bought any. The only firm I have seen using them is R.Bain who I think are based in Hertfordshire.

Didn't kno that. Wondered why I hadn't seen them lately. Shame. They done tidy work.

I only ever used then at birtchem whilst on course - really good idea but tbh normally just put a DC on the end standard instead of a SC to stop the return brd kicking out.

Not sure how it panned out Sri but me and Robbie tendered for a lot of the same work , and in the end he was going in at ridicules prices that I couldn't touch so he must have been in trouble for a while.
It is a shame because they done nice work like like you say and some complex stuff that he must have had good lad to erect .

R'bains is still about! Just running under rbs scaffolding! Thinking joining the NASC was the great downfall of R'bains

I called Offshore Scaffolding earlier in the week and they didn't have any available unless I wanted to order a lot of them (only after 5 fittings on top of the ones I already have!).

Given these parts seem to be as rare as hens teeth, could someone suggest another way of securing an edge/guard/toe board that's on it's side between two upright pieces of scaffold?

This awful Microsoft Paint picture might help to visualise what I'm trying to do...!

Thanks in advance

Will there be a handrail above the board? Why can't you fix the board with 'dead men'?

Sorry, I should have mentioned I have no experience of working with/setting up scaffolding. I joined the forum to try and find some answers rather than because I already knew a lot.

What's a 'dead man' in scaffolding terms? Googling "dead man scaffolding" only brings up morbid accident reports!

There is also a hand rail above the board a few feet up.

'dead men'--------fix another short tube at 90 degrees to your handrail and fix your board with standard scaffold fitting [single]... or if what your building looks like the original ensemble, bang a nail through the 2
