Evening lads.
We've just started using a tube lock system called vantheil. just wanting to know if anybody has used this system, and what your thoughts are on it.

FOREVER ENGLAND

I used it a lot on globe. Brilliant! Quick and you don't need to stagger the joints. Used with transom units smashes up the job in no time.

Yeah thats what we use. Easy fix and extendable tranis.. been using it for 2-3 weeks. also found you can run your lift anywhere without having to worry about sleeves or joint pins.

Its A Dutch System Scaffy, Really Quite Quick And A Good System To Use.

Plus u can run you're rope n wheel tube up n down without having to take it off the standards! Also works well with b-safe handrail system. What firm u on ?

Deos it come in other leanghs. we just have 2-3 and 4 mts.

Im on for malvern scaffolding. good firm to work. must admit i do get looked after

Good gear and it all fits nicely on the back of a pick-up.

Very true that swifty. I've seen we get almost double the amount of kit on the wagons compared to traditional tube.

Swift scaffolding use it and have done since 2005 They had a lot of standards made by converting their standard scaffold tubes with the tubelock fitting by Van Theil in Holland. If you go to the Swift Scaffolding web page you can see some photos I took of a Laing o'rourke project at Lough Rd Islington using Van Thiel equipment.

Bloody ell, small world. i used to be a supervisor for west yorkshire scaffolding. They were based just down the road from crossways.

Binthere
We still use the Van Thiel Tube-lock system as well as the telescopic transoms but not the fittings. look at our project on the Tate Modern, no need to stagger ledgers or standards.

Van Thiel, very good product and concept. Never been a fan of the wedge coupler though.
Introduced it to Bow Scaffolding in around 2000 did some amazing work with it. The Bayonet fitting has a 50kN tension value which could do away with the need to wrap joints on temp roof standards it is also very useful for tension ties in temp roofs. I believe Haki have also adopted this into their roofing system.

A sad reflection on this was that Swift Scaffolding swallowed up large quantities of Bow's Van Thiel equipment from the receivers in 2005 after Bow Scaffolding's demise for a fraction of the original cost.

I now see that Swift are advertising to buy more Van Thiel that may be around in the pre-used markets.

Just today come back from Amsterdam where I have seen quite a few scaffolds with this equipment in use.

A very Good product Doug and the right move for Bow but at the wrong time perhaps too much too soon? to the benefit of swift though, I think Trad may also of acquired some of the Bow stock but I would assume that has since been moved on.
