Hello

I would like to know please does anyone have any used scaffold/debris netting that I could use for my allotment please. I am in the stoke area. I can buy new but it can be quite expensive new and it is only for my allotment and if I can get any used netting and reuse that instead of it going in a skip then I think that would be better. It would only be used to protect my crops from pesky pigeons and cabbage white butterflies that seem to desimate my crops.

Any help would be very greatful.
Thank you all in advance.

PS. I am willing to collect if local to stoke/staffs area.

Stokeybloke welcome< i would just pop into your nearest scaffolding company and ask there is usually loads of it knocking about mate :)

Yep , at the back of any scaffolding yard there is a treasure trove for allotment types like yourself .

Hi Stokey bloke
Sorry I am unable to help re used debris netting but if you get no luck with the above - you should not be paying more than £24-25 for a 2m wide x 50m long Roll of new stuff from a hire & sales outfit (you probably don't need that much but it would last you ages - either that or you could split the cost with other allotmnet holders) Fair play for having an allotment!! I have one myself - the food I grow always tastes 100 times better than shop bought :)

Good Luck!

Yes it is a lot better than shop bought and you can grow a lot more stuff that the shops do not sell. I have had my allotment since I was 17 and I would say that it is great to get outdoors and get some fresh air and a little digging on a nice spring/summers day :smile1:

Stokeybloke welcome

Thanks Philliosmaximus

I'm ONLY 30! why do people always assume you must be an old fart to have an allotment :))
(and I keep chickens too ;))

welcome stokeybloke, if all else fails wait till you see a scaffold coming down, then just pop over and ask the scaffs, they will galdly let you have it,
it saves the lazy tw@ts picking it up themselves:nuts:

why dont we rename this the scaffolders / gardeners forum . thats the second cheeky tw*t asking for free gear in the last 2 weeks , how about you trade some for some tomatos or porn mags or whatever you do in them allotments

Never thought about that. I could put a few shredded porn mags under my carrots and cucumbers it might make them grow bigger :amazed::toung:

Don't shred em, just put them in as they are and you'll have giant worms, soon irrigate the soil for ya.
