Don't the rakers on a leaner go the other way and lean on the structure hence the name?
Wouldn't know Fred, you seem to be well informed though. In this case the transoms are butting the other wall. Its more a miracle of gravity really. Could call it a "Raking-butted-prop-deck" sounds technical.

as for the "SCAFFOLD" at least its the correct depth of timber ie 6x4 anything else would be bad practice;)
