Trio plead guilty to stealing company's scaffolding

Three men have admitted stealing scaffolding.

Jamie Allum, 40, Matthew King, 36, and Richard Martin, 34, pleaded guilty to the theft from Tone Scaffolding Services at Cambridge Crown Court.

The value of goods stolen from the Croydon-based firm last year is believed to be about £40,000.

Allum, of Darbys Yard, Sutton, King, from Cottier Drive, Littleport, and Martin, of Eldith Avenue, Fordham, are on bail until Friday, February 1.

The court will hear then whether the figures for the value of the goods stolen have been agreed. If so, the trio will be sentenced on or after February 18.

I knew a guy over 25yrs ago who got caught nicking gear....he had both his arms broken and word got around .he never worked again, & his boss never had any further thefts ftrom his yard....perhaps the oldways are sometimes the best

Yep u proberbly have to right a risk assessment and method statement before you broke em now lolo

Its how many of firms over the years started out and it still happens to this day.
Problem is in this game, its a small world out there every scaff knows another scaff through someone else.
Mud sticks! Once a thief allways a thief those names wont be forgotten when firms are taking on trust me.

I have never worked for Tone so unsure how they operate, but certain firms wouldn't settle for lettting a court sort things out with a sentence, infact you would be lucky to even make it there in a wheel chair!

True saying what someone put earlier
"Never bite the hand that feeds you"

Never had a problem borrowing gear off firms over the years and sorting the guvnor out for it, if someone is respected and trusted enough 9/10 they will lend you a lorry load of gear for a private if needed.
The problem these days is scrap yards and prices of metal going through the roof!
Although i heard scrap dealers cant deal in cash no more but we all know what goes on behind closed doors!
