Trick of the trade! ASHFORD

Old school in lieu of a dead man ...but i'd av put a dc on the end of the return toe to stop it kicking out on the end

What the single stopping the kick board from kicking?
Are they kwik stage boards on that scaffold?

Was there not a welder somewhere who fell from a job after a toe board moved?

the welder was pulling something under the handrail and had taken the toe board of and then fell heed first through the gap , i think :wondering:

I remember his family were on here but can't quite remember exactly what happened. I think the toe board was fitted correctly but someone else had moved it as the issue was with the inspection regime. Working from a poor memory so could be wrong.

No one is perfect that is for sure. The reasons will be many and varied but probably a mixture of laziness and pressure.

could have used a clappie to hold the toe board or a dead head on the end toe board with the long one slipped inside it.

Adapt and overcome eh

so, that single fitting central against the toe board isn't standard practice? would it normally just be held at each end?

Do this all the time. Nothing wrong with it imo, just as safe as a dead man.
Kick one, you'll see for yourself.

Its not in Kier red tops so i still do it!!
