We would recommend you always brief your drivers/scaffolder drivers about their requirement to secure their load before leaving site, but there are proprietary systems on the market, which will assist your company in restraining materials on lorries.

Please see TRAD’s website for inexpensive canvas shields (also known as tailgate sheets), which are fixed on the rear of TRAD Scaffolding trailers to prevent material falling from the lorry bed. The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) have been so impressed by this innovative approach, our safety compliance record, and the high roadworthiness maintenance of our lorries that VOSA has given TRAD Scaffolding's operator risk score a Green.

Please contact Joe Hiney of Trad Hire & Sales on 020 8517 1212 if you want further details or would like to purchase bespoke shields/tailgate sheets for your company.

Additionally, the FORS scheme/courses are helpful in better understanding the hazards and risks involved in transportation and we highly recommended them. For further information please see: FORS | Transport for London
