We're just designing a tin roof and the customer has come back insisting on a gutter - we can always botch something up in trannys off the beams with a felted box gutter with boards - but is there a better way of doing it?? Are there any proprietary gutters we can bolt on which go well with 450 beams and tin?

Any sensible solutions welcomed :blink1:

We did one once but it was a right pain in the ar.se

We fixed a board edge on and screwed brackets to it for a pvc gutter with tube sleeving as a downpipe
didnt work that well either:embarrest:

I assume you've got an independant around all elevations with the inside standards going up to carry the edge protection?if so can you not just attach 1ft butts projecting inwards, you can then lay wide gauge plastic guttering on top of these with a six inch butt punched up off the 1ft butt to form a valley that the guttering can sit nicely in with no lateral movement.

Roof extends thru to the outside standard but yes effectively I was going to show that as a 'box gutter'. Good idea about the plastic though - got to be easier than felting!

We have done it a cpl of times - the method we use is to attach a long metal bracket under the wiggle clap ...the type that chippies use to fix their wooden plates to the wall- they're approx 2'long with a 9" right angle bend in them and loads of holes to fix to the walls...

Either zippie tie or screw a gutter clamp to this..once fitted under the wiggle on the top chordof the beam we simply bend it down into position then snap fix the gutter into the brackets...we allways use the plastic rolled temp downpipe...hope this helps

Dont for get every 6m need 10mm of fall on a gutter ;) to much and it will just simply flow over the side to little and it will just sit ;)

You cant just close a thread mate you gotta let us come up with a solution or at least take the p iss for a few pages

Let the first line of sheets stick out 600 this will clear the scaffold

oh hang on it might interfere with the edge protection

Think I got it now - End Thread.

You did realise that wasn't a computer command didn't you? Just writing 'end thread' at the end of a sentence :laugh::laugh:

He's keeping it a secret or the client fell over when he seen how much extra it would cost, either way, some good suggestions from the chaps:)
