Three people 'lucky' to escape after scaffolding collapses in Brentwood

THREE builders were lucky to escape with only minor injuries after scaffolding collapsed on top of them in Brentwood.

The accident happened at a building site on Cleves Avenue at just before 9am on Thursday. Three people at the site were hospitalised after the incident in which scaffolding collapsed.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “All three casualties were very lucky indeed to walk away with minor injuries. Following assessments by paramedics, they were all taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.”

Two ambulances and a fast response car attended the scene.
