Threatening to jump from scaffold

A MAN was arrested after threatening to jump from scaffolding on a South Tyneside house.

Police and firefighters were called to Bewick Street, South Shields, at about 10pm yesterday, after a resident reported that someone had climbed up 25ft-high scaffolding on the terraced street.

When they arrived, a 21-year-old man was threatening to leap from the structure.

He was talked down by officers and arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

The man was still being questioned by police this morning.:laugh:

i was ganna push him off, but jakdan stopped me , apparently it would have cost a saturday shift to repair the pavement lol

yeah i was threatening to jump cos my boss said i had to work in boro with the rest of mentally impaired
