The Scaffolding Association

Just had a look looks great I love the old pictures of the old days, the one of Tamworth station in the 60s got me thinking.......,,

Band and plate was the fitting of choice then but what did they use for sway braces/ handrails on staircase etc ie swivel fitting?
 
For braces they attach them to transoms. They would use the old dh
 
I went to there 1st of 3 intial meetings - drove all the way to dartford & waisted the day tbh it was a completd farce alo g wiv their misson statement...the whole set up is under the guize of a non profit making organisation & chaired by a guy who runs a saftey services buisness & for a fee you can be brought up to date with all his courses along with the other buisness there like hudsons & panthea all trying to sell there services- the whole thing was tbh a giant con...out of approx 50 people who there only 30 represented scaffolding companies & none signed up .
 
Perhaps the SCCR should have been supported better?
