Check this out.......so I went over Teesport MTG bi mass plant looking to see if there's any scaffolding work going when I got there bumped into some Spanish bloke and asked him if there was any scaffolding jobs going, the bloke give me some card and said get in touch with them it's it's a Spanish firm called STIN. talking to the bloke he said to be honest mate they're not looking for any local lads as they bring their own lads from Spain and their own scaffolding as they think there's no corporate confidence in the local work force so basically saying we are a liability so obviously there's going to be loads of work kicking of and theyre not going to employ none of the locals, something needs doing about this as theres limited work for us scaffolders up north!!! like and share my post and get something done about this were a community let's stick together!!!! EVERYONE PLEASE SHARE THIS SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!!!!! ANDREW MACHADO TAKING LOCAL WORK FROM UNDER OUR FEET

STIN have had Technicas Reunidas (the principal contractor on the MGT Teesside project) as a client before, but I have to call ******** with this one. The MGT Teesside project is registered with NJCEI so all the project details can be found here....

http://www.njceci.org.uk/publication/teesrep-biomass-power-station-project-spa-20-01-17/wppa_open/

Section 17.2 explicitly states 'The importance of the Project to the local communities is recognised by the Project, therefore wherever possible due regard is given by the appointed contractors and sub-contractors to the recruitment of local labour who are suitably qualified and with relevant Engineering Construction Industry experience. Local labour will be defined as those who are not in receipt of accommodation allowance'

MGT have also set up an employment hub specifically for local labour in Grangetown, a stones throw away from the site.

MGT Funds Routes to Employment Coordinator at Grangetown

If they start bringing foreign labour over then there will be a riot on that gate never mind a picket line.

Just heard that they staged a protest this morning, basically on the back of one mans rumour. I'm all for protesting if the grievance is a just one. But in this case the contracts haven't even been announced yet and all evidence points towards local labour being used. It's embarrassing really.

is julian really the jiggaman or jason gibbs.....YOU DECIDE

A blast from the past there jiggaman and the j boy
what about the master ?
Anyway back to the point hopefully the borra boys will sort out any issues with regard to the local labour issues.
