BIS Industrial Services (BIS-IS) continues to strengthen its Eastern Region business, with the award of major industrial services contracts at ConocoPhillips Humber Refinery in South Killingholme, BP Saltend in Hull and EDF Energy in Nottinghamshire.
At ConocoPhillips, BIS-IS has secured the renewal of one of its largest contracts, while also extending the range of services delivered to include the provision of scaffolding, insulation, painting and asbestos removal.
BIS-IS has secured the renewal of one of its largest contracts, while also extending the range of services delivered at ConocoPhillips Humber Refinery.
•••..Employing up to 200 staff, this four-year maintenance contract has ensured that the company is now the sole provider of maintenance support services at the refinery and the site's ICHP plant.
The BP Saltend deal is a five-year combined services contract, featuring a range of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and scaffolding, insulation and painting (SIP) services across a number of multi-customer assets on the Saltend Chemicals Park.
BIS-IS will now become the preferred choice for the provision of maintenance support for planned and unplanned activities, projects and turnarounds, as well as the main provider of industrial services across the entire facility.
The contract is scheduled to start in May and will see approximately 260 personnel transfer from the incumbent contractor through the TUPE process.
Alex Curry, BP delivery manager, said: "We are excited about working with BIS-IS. They are a company who, through the tender process, demonstrated their culture, HSE capabilities, intelligence, regional strength and level of technical support and we look forward to working with them in the future."
A five-year maintenance contract with EDF Energy will see BIS-IS provide SIP and asbestos management services at their Cottam and West Burton Power Stations. The contract is viewed as a significant step forward for the company within the UK power sector.
"Each of these contracts is a fantastic endorsement of the safety and delivery performance delivered by the teams at BIS-IS," said Duncan Hall, managing director for BIS-IS.
"To continue working with ConocoPhillips demonstrates our ability to keep improving and meeting the challenges of demanding customers.
"In securing new contracts at BP Saltend and EDF, these customers have recognised the safety performance and innovation that BIS-IS can bring to their sites, this being validated through a detailed tender process involving multiple reference site visits in the UK and on the continent.
"Our total commitment to delivering these contracts in the safest possible manner is our goal."
