Storm round-up: fright for father and daughter as scaffolding collapses before them
John Fairley, an IT systems administrator, and his seven-year-old daughter had a narrow escape when scaffolding came crashing down before their eyes during Monday's storm.

The metal tower, believed to be for a new mobile phone mast in Menzieshill, toppled in the gales and on to a section of footpath at Dickson Avenue.
Mr Fairley had a prime view of the incident from his car.
"I was just telling my daughter about the dangers of sheltering under a tree in a gale. Then we saw a tree crack and split and then the scaffolding came down," he said. "It all happened so fast, it was incredible really.
"At the time it looked like it was going to come down on the road but it mostly landed on the pavement. I stopped and called the police who came about 15 minutes later."
