Stolen lorry found in flames in Bagillt

Jan 19 2012
by Kathryn Quayle, Flintshire Chronicle

A STOLEN lorry has been found in flames by the side of a road.
The flat-bed truck, which was deliberately set alight, was one of two vehicles reported stolen from a scaffolding firm last Thursday.

The vehicle was found by the police and fire services, ablaze in a lay-by off Gadlys Road, Bagillt, in the early hours of Friday.

North Wales Police has launched a hunt to find the truck thieves and those responsible for setting one of the vehicles on fire.

A police spokeswoman said: “We received reports that two vehicles had been stolen from a scaffolding company in Bagillt.

“One was later found to be set alight. These incidents are under investigation.”

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they were called to a wagon fire in Gadlys Road, Bagillt, at 3.50am. The lorry’s cabin was destroyed by fire and the flat bed suffered 30% fire and smoke damage.

She said: “No-one was injured in the incident. We believe the fire was started deliberately and the police have been informed.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should call North Wales Police on 101.

It May well have been Grosvenor scaffolding.

I hope they catch the little fukcers that nicked their wagons and tar & feather em !!

Happens often around here, break in to the office, find the keys to the most loaded wagon, then burst through the gates, sell the load and remove the wagons identity and sell it to the export market or strip it down for scrap and parts,a nice payday for an enterprising thief, though i suspect it's the same gang behind this,as i recall grosvenor have been a victim to this before, you would think they're wagons would have trackers,so at least you'd know where it's been,or is.

Or even take the keys home at night.
