Hi, I'm new to scaffolding as just been employed by a company to do an apprenticeship..I'm a hard worker and very keen to work and learn about the industry. However I'm a complete newbie to it all and want to the best to my ability. My employer asked me yesterday to come in over the weekend to complete maths and english assessments to help determine whether they feel I'm right for the job? I'm ok with my maths and english but wondered whether anyone knew what the tests would consist of so I could possibly practice before the weekend As I'm enjoying my time at the company and would be disappointed if I didn't do well and then wasn't kept on to complete my training?
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated :)

They said that depending on how well I do on the assessments on Saturday (just being done at my local depot)will determine on whether I'll continue within the company and then going on to do further assessments. Not said I'd be getting paid for Saturday just that I need to come in? I'm just unsure what to expect really. I didn't know if it would be connected to the bconstructive tests they want me to do in regards to funding my apprenticeship? So just enquiring on here to find anything out as the manager hasn't said anything else about it and I know other trainees have to sit the assessments also.

It will be a very basic math and spelling test you will be fine

I cant imagine it would be anything to worry about just a basic maths and English test , which company are you working for out of interest ?

Are they paying you for doing the weekend assessments? If you need any help with spelling or maths please contact Adam from RHL. Just send him a PM

Put it this way fred he can turn 19 to 14.5 an hour with no training whatsoever and still have the arse to say hes doing you a favour....simple maths for our new friend here and a bit of advice....

agencies + umbrella company = parasitic leeches who cant go out and find real mens work so they sit behind a computer screen playing god with mens livelyhoods but would never have the balls to say it in person, also most of their mums have been fingerblasted by a scaff while they are out the house....thats not thrush you rats its a reaction to scaff eaze!!!!!

Maths and English..... I would have thought it was a wind up mate but on the yts at erith college we had to do keyskills in maths and English lol

Ull be fine mate ;)

I really wouldn't worry too much fella in regards for a simple basic maths and English judging by your spelling your already there pal and basically your maths test will be the basic of test teaching you how to convert footage into meterage whatever size tube you have you just multiply by 3 move the decimal point to the right this gives you your mtr lets say you have a 5foot tube multiply by 3 gives you 15. move the point to the right this gives you 1.5mtrs get the gist of it young gun and good luck with your training and they will probably test you on your centres for boards ,learning your 9xtable will help you just fine all the best scc

I propose a spelling test be successfully completed before Adam from RHL posts any further jobs. Poll please.
