Self Employed
Mate, just be grateful for work, there are more and more scaffold companies taking blokes on with 20% deduction of tax self employed, as they cant afford the employers deduction, there is not enough money out there for small firms to employ on cards. !!
How does a small firm afford to pay a worker say £1000 wages when the worker is sunning himself in Spain for 2 weeks without erecting any lifts and effectivley earning money for the firm, where does that money come from ?
So many small firms went under inlast 2 years and the main reason !!! They could not afford to 1. Pay ni deductions / contributions 2. holiday pay !!
In an ideal world we would all like to be on cards, with all the cushty stuff, but scaffolding , bricklaying, chippies, plasteres etc is unique,
Sorry to sound like a tight arse but us bosses of small firms dont earn much more than the fixers, and cant afford to be PAYE !!!!! that is why there are so many agencies out there now for self employed status !!
