Self Employed

Mate, just be grateful for work, there are more and more scaffold companies taking blokes on with 20% deduction of tax self employed, as they cant afford the employers deduction, there is not enough money out there for small firms to employ on cards. !!

How does a small firm afford to pay a worker say £1000 wages when the worker is sunning himself in Spain for 2 weeks without erecting any lifts and effectivley earning money for the firm, where does that money come from ?

So many small firms went under inlast 2 years and the main reason !!! They could not afford to 1. Pay ni deductions / contributions 2. holiday pay !!

In an ideal world we would all like to be on cards, with all the cushty stuff, but scaffolding , bricklaying, chippies, plasteres etc is unique,

Sorry to sound like a tight arse but us bosses of small firms dont earn much more than the fixers, and cant afford to be PAYE !!!!! that is why there are so many agencies out there now for self employed status !!

Plat:blink:

i like being 20 percent,it makes you get out of bed on these winter mornings,if you dont, you go skint.

Great response Platinum, I love the govement too mate. this bank holiday for the marridge of the prince will cost all small firms and large firms.
The goverment is a pritty bad buisness and if it were a buisness, it would be bankrupt. What do you think of the 3% of wadges going to the pension of the employee?
Now theres a great idea were all strugling now and with all the rights going to the employee.
As you say the cost of employing and the employees dont relise they look at the boss and think hes loaded ha i wish they had our bills though they would say its your problem you got a buisness.
The govement say pass the cost on in our industry there is no such thing, with a customer. They go cheap dont care if the staff are trained and dont give two sh1ts if you do risk assesments ect.Money makes the word go round with out it were in the Number TWO. Employing is such a great cost. We put a lad on here as a director made hime more money paid by th dividen cut our cost to the payee, Though the club footed **** has been steeling off the firm and had to go. The more you do for some the more some employees take the P.ss out of you...
Also if you put the employee on a dividen it helps out with the CSA payments and back pay which this **** owed. Its a grat way of cutting your paye down though realy pick the employee your doing it for,Its made me think about making everyone self employed...
