security clearance

Believe that stuff like that is "spent" after 10 years and doesnt have to be declared
 
I think a lot depends on where your working...

Several years ago I worked on a naval base which had to have clearance, my mate served time for attacking someone with a clawhammer but as it was over 5 years clear, he was allowed on base if under supervision from a manager, I had a criminal damage conviction and was told I wasnt allowed on site under any circumstances. Thing that made me laugh though is we went in, built the scaffold, left it a week, dismantled before the clearance papers came back....:p
 
Dave ja vu - we have had the same experience as you on a few police stations in sussex , in and out before the paperwork came back rejecting the blokes ha ha
 
You should of said, their all face punchers at the voe, the place would empty.:D
 
One of my mates is a manager for a large scaffolding contractor in london. He spent 2 brief stints in prison about 15 years ago and has a reasonably hefty criminal record.
(Although nothing for over 10 years)
He had no problem getting MOD security clearance last year...
I'm just using that as an example, I'm no expert on the subject.

ive got a gbh conviction from 2006 and ive been cleared on AWE sites and the olympics whitch is stricked

Olympics might as well be the wild west, you can get on there if you have a murder conviction, i know that for a fact because i know someone on there that has.
