Right guys, i've just seen this advertised on the WORLDWIDEWORKER website
I've copied the advertisment and some contact details for the company from the web, which appear below. I'm not sure which number to call, but i assume the Middle Eat or Abu Dhabi numbers would be favorite.
Please note, i do not know this company and have nothing to do with them, so you must make proper enquiries to them and not me please.

Good luck.

Just be careful of recruitment agencies that dont have an up and running website.
Anyway Yemen is probably alongside Somalia and Rwanda on most peoples "dont want to visit lists"

Yemen travel advice

In fact the Foreign Office advise against non-essential travel to Yemen.
A friend of mine went there as an advisor several years ago and was given 2 bodyguards with automatic weapons!!

Yes, you're right about your warnings.
An old colleague of mine was out there some years ago and required full time armed protection whilst out in the desert near the Saudi border. He was being paid $2000 a day to connect radio masts and the like, but said that the company he worked for had lost over 50 Land Cruisers to Saudi bandits whilst out in the desert.
I would suggest that anyone who was interested in the vacancy made very clear demands in their contract negotiations, that security was provided to international standards, full Medi-vac cover was included and the pay rate was also towards the higher end of the scale.
The leave cycle is not too good for down that way either, so some re-negotiation would also be needed there.
In my experience, this type of job ends up going to some partially trained Italian or similar, because they will accept far less than a properly clued in Brit or Yank would demand.
If anyone reading this gets the job, perhaps they would like to post about their experiences out there on this site, it might make interesting reading !
Cheers,
Jonnyoneye.
