Quantity Surveyor - Scaffolding
Brief Outline:

My client is looking for a quantity surveyor to undertake progress valuations to join a dynamic team. Scaffolding experience would be an advantage although not essential. Based in Hampshire but a role which will require some degree of travelling / site visits. In addition to the quantity surveying, the role would also encompass costs control management with existing suppliers

About the Role:

* Provide commercial support to the preconstruction activities of the business, for selected tenders
* For specific projects, take a pro-active part in the effective handover of projects from preconstruction to the project delivery team
* Where required and under the direction of the relevant commercial manager, be involved in or take a lead in closing out contractual negotiations with clients, including collateral warranties, guarantees & bonds; with the objective of optimising contract conditions and mitigating the company's exposure to risk
* Prepare and arrange internal project start-up meetings and provide strong commercial support & advice to the Project Manager, the wider project delivery team and managers & directors of the company
* Ensure accurate monthly valuations (including of all variations & claims) & final account projections are submitted and followed up with clients, to optimise revenue and cash-flow
* Provide accurate & comprehensive monthly financial reporting and forecasting on specific projects in compliance with company procedures and timescales
* Administer & manage the swift finalisation of accounts with clients & any subcontractors, including the provision of information required to support this
* Support business-to-business relationship with key clients, key suppliers and subcontractors alike

About the Candidate:

* Quantity surveying with scaffold experience
* To be practised and familiar with standard methods of measurement and forms of contract
* Ability to undertake regular site based progress assessments
* To prepare monthly account statements and valuations for submission
* To be able to perform successful Final Account negotiations
* An understanding of Contract Law and legislation
* Cost control management and accounting - reconcile orders / deliveries / invoices
* Experience in scaffold estimating would be advantageous, with the preparation of quotations including terms & conditions and contract clauses
* Civil / Network Rail experience would be advantageous
* A good level of knowledge of MS Office based software products
* Must have driving licence
