Brief Outline:
My client, a top 10 scaffolding contractor within the industry are looking for an experienced senior quantity surveyor to lead a team of surveyors working on some of the largest and most prestigious commercial scaffolding projects in London and the South East
About the Client:
My client are a leading access provider who operate across the UK. They have been established for well over 50 years and have gained a reputation for being one of the best companies to work for as well as working with from a client viewpoint. They work with the biggest and best blue chip main contractors on projects valued into the early millions
About the Role:
* Closing out contractual negotiations with clients, including collateral warranties, guarantees & bonds; with the objective of optimising contract conditions and mitigating the company's exposure to risk
* Prepare and arrange internal project start-up meetings and provide strong commercial support & advice to the Project Manager, the wider project delivery team and managers & directors of the company
* Ensure accurate monthly valuations (including of all variations & claims) & final account projections are submitted and followed up with clients, to optimise revenue and cash-flow
* Provide accurate & comprehensive monthly financial reporting and forecasting on specific projects in compliance with company procedures and timescales
* Administer & manage the swift finalisation of accounts with clients & any subcontractors, including the provision of information required to support this
* Support business-to-business relationship with key clients, key suppliers and subcontractors alike
About the Candidate:
* 3-5 years scaffolding quantity surveying experience
* To be practised and familiar with standard methods of measurement and forms of contract
* Ability to undertake regular site based progress assessments
* To prepare monthly account statements and valuations for submission
* To be able to perform successful Final Account negotiations
* An understanding of Contract Law and legislation
* Cost control management and accounting - reconcile orders / deliveries / invoices
* Experience in scaffold estimating would be advantageous, with the preparation of quotations including terms & conditions and contract clauses
