Scaffolding Quantity Surveyor
About the Job
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) who will be responsible for managing costs relating to our scaffolding projects, from the initial enquiry to the final account. The QS should seek to enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. You will need to be familiar with the processes of estimating and tendering, preparation and submissions of applications and subcontractor cost value reconciliation (CVR).
This post will be suitable for a QS with surveying experience within construction or scaffolding who is looking to expand their skills and knowledge in this area and take on new challenges.
Job Description
1. Managing costs on a variety of building projects, which will be assigned to you by your line manager;
2. Undertaking costs analysis for scaffolding work;
3. Assisting in building relationships with clients.
4. Undertaking risk analysis and feasibility studies;
5. Assisting with the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
6. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
7. Assisting with preparing and analysing costings for tenders
8. Placing of subcontractor orders, with approval of your line manager.
9. Production of financial reports ( cost value reconciliation)
10. Valuing completed work and processing payments for supply chain
11. Understanding the implications of health and safety requirements
12. Attending team meetings and working to achieving collective targets and goals where required.
13. Carrying out any administrative duties relating to your work.
14. Liaising with clients and consultants at all levels ensuring that you represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.
15. Able and willing to travel to projects on sites when required.
16. Ensuring you remain updated as to any commercial, legal or educational progresses or changes that may affect your role as a QS and to report these changes or influences to your line manager.
17. Working with Contract and Site Managers to ensure that staffing hours are correctly monitored and recorded.
18. Carrying out any other reasonable duty/task needed for the proper execution of your role and the needs of the Company as and when requested by your line manager
