Is this the same company you had problems with last year at a site in Cheshunt ?

Hi Podger,

Yes it is the same client as Cheshunt but he assured me that there was 8 hours a day on site. We are currently chasing him as unlike Cheshunt there was no clocking in and clocking out machine on the Milton Keynes Job.

Regards

Got a text this afternoon .

" RHL -Looking for 1x Scaffolders for job in Milton Keynes paying £15 p/h for a weeks striking work. 8 Hour days, immediate start avail. Call Andy on 01256 817878- RHL."

Presumably this is the client RHL have been having "trouble with" ie: not paying the agreed hrs. To my knowledge this has been going on for over six months on at least two sites. Yet whilst claiming to be a reputable agency RHL continue to supply this client with scaffs knowing that they will not get paid the stated 8 hrs .

A reputable agency would refuse to do business with a client that didn't honor the contract whether it be written or verbal and as gesture of goodwill make up the shortfall .

The reality of the situation is like the majority of agencies RHL don't give a toss about the individual doing the graft on site , all they are interested in is getting a cut for themselves and their "preferred partner" in this case Fairgate Construction

There are some good agencies out there Octain and Forefront for example. Always paying the agreed hrs at the agreed rate and don't have a problem using an umbrella company of your choice to process payments, staying clear of the dodgy clients.
