scaffolders-in-high-demand

Maybe they will start paying descent money then.

I have got a young gun desperate to head out that way soon enough, have you got any tips for him?

aom,

looks like it will be busy down here for a while.

australia pays a lot better than nz.

they use tube more in nz though.

australia is full of system gear and t&f is generally pretty average quality at best.

oil n gas trains being built all over wa and qld + 1 kicking off in darwin next year.

your boy needs to get in with MAS or CBI and maybe cape if they are still going. they get most of the mega projects, lots of mine maintenace work going too, generally very poor quality of work but moneys good.

takes a couple of years to get used to the place though, a lot different from home.

I think that's why he fancies it. He is 22 with no ties and all of a sudden turned into a right good wee T&F scaffolder, he will be the first to go that I will miss. I know it won't be the be all and end all but I really hope he goes or does something with his tickets.

Thanks for the tips, I will pass them on.

pm me when he has his mind and time set.

i will get numbers and names from the right companies for him

Nice one, thanks for that I will.

Hey Boman, is there plenty goin on in the way of work then in WA around now? Have a 12 month visa which I wouldn't mind coming around WA and hooking into bitta work. I am journeyman scaff from Canada so first order would be to get Oz tickets. Do you know of anyone in particular I could contact with regards to getting an assessment for RPL (recognition of prior learning) as to get up to speed with the certs then? And yea, is it busy out there? Thanks mate.

Robbie are you under 31 years old? If so mate, take out your working holiday maker visa, head to Perth and get it going. Lots of work around, ya just have to find it and be willing to put in a bit of time. Lots of shift work jobs that pay big bucks... I'm considering going back here after xmas, maybe even before depends on how things work out. Let me know what yer thinkin mate...

No mate I'm 38 years of age I'm an advanced Scaff over 12 years experience in heavy industry ie oil and gas petro chemical new builds powers stations and nuclear stations mate just want to try something different

Would my age be a problem?

no problem mate, just that if you were under 31 you could apply for working holiday maker visa, easy to get and then just rock into Oz and find yer way. Now you prob need to find a sponsor. You wouldn't happen to have a copy of a CV hand would ya? I am just looking for a template actually that a scaffolder would use... cheers
