Scaffolder???????????

what type off scaff would you prefer to be?

There seems to be quite a bit of animosity as to what is a scaff and what makes a good scaff a bad scaff a slasher a fann y a grafter a lazy tw@
well lets have a pole (not the dirty ones)

if the money was the same and the crack was the same what sort of SCAFF would you be?

street, station, rig, yard, bridges, site or back and front brigade
 
and the work was just as hard/ easy ???? steet defo but theres no money in it, and any 1 who dosent say street nver workd on it and has got dusty knees :D
 
I enjoy being in a small pond, I have been them all at one time or another like most but now we get a wee taste of all of them all the time and still get to sleep in our own bed most nights.

I voted not bothered but you should have had an all of the above option.
 
Never been on rigs
I say street, different place every day
Birds walking past with hardly owt on in summer (even though your not allowed to whistle etc at em any more ! Booo)

Considering that most specialist firms are streetwork, I am not surprised at the poll result.
At the end of the day we all indulge in heavy manual work.
If its a question on who should be on more than others just for the sake of the old (I am fitter than you), then I say , bollox.
 
8 years on the rigs, glad in the end that i broke my leg and got 20 weeks sick leave, never ventured back after that
 
Street work any day, as said before sun, birds, and no site agent being a right cent in your ear.

The only thing wrong with street work tokwitney is the general public, you sometimes wonder where they get their brains from, they can see your erecting/dismantling a scaffold and im sure they go out of their way to cause you as much grief as they possibly can
 
Sometimes Iv Found Your Better With A Small Company, You Then Get The Full Range Of Scaffold Work, Iv Worked For The Multinationals And Been Stuck On A Site Doing Housing Where As Iv Worked With Smaller Companies And Did Everything From Bridges To Temp Roofs, Dont Misunderstand Me Guys Right Now Any Work Is Better Than No Work, But A Variation Is Nice.

Not defo mate but I think he was having a dig at me cuz I've never been on the rigs.
I have experience of all the above including refineries but obviously I've not scaffolded proper though :cry: :bigsmile:

Take no notice Zotsey, you always get one who thinks hes better than the rest and if the truth were known i bet he could`nt lace a good scaffolders boots
