We currently have opportunities for an experienced Scaffolder to join our team at Babcock Marine Clyde, working within our Fleet Engineering department.

Specific areas of responsibility will include providing scaffolding support to the Fleet Engineering teams and also undertaking other general labouring activities across submarines, surface ships and various shores based activities.

The anticipated salary for this role will be around £22,183 per annum.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate previous Scaffolding and manual handling experience and knowledge of the equipment used in support of such activities. Other key areas of competency we require are as follows:

Part 1, Part 2 and CIRS in Scaffolding
Basic bench fitting skills and use of workshop hand / portable machinery e.g. grinding, cutting etc.
Experience of utilising Work to Risk, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
Experience of confined space working.
Strong team working and interpersonal skills.

Security
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
