1. Background of Position/Operational Asset:
We currently have a vacancy for a Scaffolder to work as part of the Deck Crew on Douglas Platform located in Liverpool Bay, which is part of BHP Billiton’s UK Production Unit.
2. Background of Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor this position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective availability, operation and performance in all offshore scaffolding duties. The successful candidate will also perform heli-deck crew duties and tasks as required.

3. Responsibilities:
• Safeguarding the reliability, availability and “fit for purpose” operational condition of scaffolds and associated equipment.
• The safe and efficient performance of assigned heli-deck crew duties and tasks as required.
• Compile and maintain personal records of competence.

4. Duties:
• Safety Management - Be aware of, understand and comply with the requirements of the installation Safety Case; Adopt safe working practices at all times with regard to scaffolding operations and where appropriate, in accordance with statutory and Company’s Operating Procedures; Ensure that all scaffolding and associated equipment, where necessary, has valid certification prior to commencing operations.
• Emergency Response - Understand and have detailed knowledge of the Company’s Emergency Response Procedures; Perform in an emergency response role as defined in the Company’s Emergency Response Procedures Manual and installation Station Bill.
• Preventive and Restorative Maintenance - Assist specialist contractor personnel as necessary in the undertaking and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities as required.
• Work Management - Ensure all assigned work is completed accurately, within required timescales and in accordance with the Company’s Safe System of Working; Assist in the re-prioritising of installation work schedules by communicating immediately to the Offshore Planner all instances of scaffold issues and unavailability; Ensure all appropriate jobs are accompanied by the necessary and accurately completed documentation.
• Performance Improvement - Where appropriate, ensure actual times taken to execute work (PM and CM) are recorded accurately for input to the Maintenance Management System (SAP); Ensure all relevant equipment performance and condition data are recorded accurately for input to SAP; Provide technical knowledge and experience in diagnosing and resolving operational and/or maintenance problems where the use of scaffold is required.

5. Qualifications:
• Minimum Level 2 Scaffolder, ideally Advanced Level
• Permit to Work (Leader / User), Helideck Fire Team Member, CAA Radio Certificate, Rigging/Lifting, Banksman/Slinging are desirable
