Cape is an international leader in the provision of essential non-mechanical industrial services principally to the energy and mineral resources infrastructure sectors. Our range of multi-disciplinary services includes common access systems, insulation, refractory, painting, coatings, blasting, industrial cleaning, training and assessment, which are required on an on-going basis throughout the lifecycle of downstream energy infrastructure assets. With over 19,000 people in 30 countries, Cape delivers safe, reliable and intelligent solutions both on and offshore.

An opportunity has arisen, for a Scafold Work Pack Engineer, to support the preparation of Scaffold Work Packs or the Claire Ridge Hook-up. Most of the Scaffold surveys will be taken from a 3D Navisworks model and screen shots will then be transferred to Powerpoint, for Scaffold Work Pack input. Training will be given for the use of the Navisworks model.
Operative must have at least 2 years experience, as Scaffold Foreman/Supervisor
Advanced IT skills, regarding Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
A good understanding of he Cape Estimating system would be highly advantageous

Initially, the preparation works will take place in AMEC's office, in Old Street, London, with potentially periodic visits to Ulsan, Korea. The project team will eventually transfer to Aberdeen, leading up to the execution phase. The operative will then transfer to the Hook-up execution team, as part of the Cape Hook-up team.

*This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, until the execution phase, where an offshore rotation will be adopted.

What in the name of blue monkey balls, is a "work pack" engineer?

It is a person who compiles work packs for offshore projects. Work packs are required for all projects offshore and contain all details of the project including manpower, materials, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, timescales etc...................

I like the way they try to make an admin role more attractive by tagging 'engineer' onto it. It's bit like a binman calling himself a domestic refuse disposal engineer.
