Just registered here as I am looking to buy a scaffold tower for home DIY. - guttering work, painting, etc. Semi-detached house, and the gutters are about 21 feet above the ground.
I have been searching around the web and from what I can gather, aluminium towers are better than the steel ones. Why is that ?
Please point me in the right direction as to what type of tower to buy, ie steel or aluminium, and the height I need.
Looking forward to help from you professionals.

get a propper scaff it will be safer,i magine you hurt your self putting it up or taking it down it could put you out of work.

Welcome to the forum, hire a tower for a couple of weeks instead of buying you will save £`s

Thank you for the welcome, and also the remarks and suggestions. It looks as though aluminium towers are better than steel. I will google the two sites suggested. As regards hiring - hire for 1 week,? but the way the weather is that period might have to be extended, costing more money in the long run.

It'll work out a lot cheaper to get the whole area to be painted scafolded by a competent company. You won't have to keep getting down from the tower to move it along to the next piece you need to paint. If it's stood on grass or a flower border you'll have to dismantle and re-erect it every time you move it as it won't push along. You won't be able to access all the windows /guttering at once as the tower will only be 8ft long, so again up and down instead of just walking along the scaffold to the next window to paint. Why do you think pro painters scaffold the whole house instead of using towers?
