Do anyone fund Scaffold Courses anymore?
I am a Basic Scaff looking into doing my Advanced any info is much appreciated thanks

Think most funding is targeted at apprentices nowadays , best to ring round the training centres

Companies who are registered with citb& pay their levy often get the chance to send guys off on part funded courses- fully funded courses are available but only to under 24s we have just had a guy come back from his advanced, i would advise to phone birtchem newton who maybe able to offer better advise

Doubt you will get funding mate,bast bet is just to save up and pay for it yourself,after all,you can never put too much cash into yourself can ya.

I paid for all my other courses so suppose carry on as I have done

PAy for it yourse;f, but claim the VAT back at the end of the tax year.

You can only claim the VAT back if you are VAT registered.

Agreed but even if not vat registeted than the cost of the course & accom & food can be offset as a trading deduction to claim back

Yes if you are self employed or CIS you can offset.

At this point, PAYE, according to HMRC guidance, can't offset the cost of "bettering" (HMRC words, not mine) themselves but its a subject we are willing to do battle over because it is a disgraceful attitude by government.
