Just spoke the girls in recruitment who tell me they are still reducing numbers ,has anyone heard any different ?i was back offshore this time last year looks like Londons calling .

Back to Construction and Civil Projects looks the best bet…don't hold your breath for a rapid rise in Offshore Work…even if you do get Offshore work the remuneration T & C arnt worth the risks associated + more Agencies are being used by the principal which will impact on lower rates...

La la la London Calling la la la

Am with salamis, they are in the process of pulling out of the oca they said nothing's going to change They are paying off anyway loads of lads including myself are on consultation periods North Sea is finished now

Is it true salamis are pulling out of the oca. If true were does this leave the lads ie pay rise s and holidays.

In one word "f**ked"
If they are saying nothing will change for the lads offshore then why walk away from OCA. All it is about these days is saving the pennies and the biggest place they can save is out the pockets of the work force.so if they tell you nothing will change the bull sh"t machine is already starting to warm up.

you will end up with a reduced holiday rate, most likely some daft rate plucked out the air and only paid for 8 hrs a day.
can see the rate being dropped down from £19.31 ph to around £14.00 ish
and you will be taking a hit on travel payment as well, like you wont be getting it. And if they get away with wont be long before stork and cape do the same.
to say the north sea is fooked these days is a understatment

Yip…foooked…they are even talking the Job is based in Aberdeen so make your own way up + overnights stays ect…pay starts from checkin

Oh ye, and if its an Agency yer own gear ect…don't know how they are going to get around Fall arrest equipment though…

Aye, its FOOOOOOOKED...

They reckon they are pulling because they want to get into decommissioning and renewable energy and the oca isn't part of this or some crap, I think the rate will drop and I also think holidays will be a thing of the past!!! As soon as the other firms cape and stork see how much money salamis are saving they will jump straight on the band wagon your right 100%. Gary Adams your also right however we get paid from check inn already lol no more 12hours the day you go offshore

If salamis pull out of the OCA then they will not be able to tender for fabric maintenance or hook ups etc.maybe the y are going to pull the plug on the platform work alltogether
I may be wrong but it is not a good sign whatever way you look at it.
Maybe time for a sit in ?
