Sacffolding Instuctors

Heard about this just today. Due to planned ongoing expansion Newcastle College are looking to appoint scaffolding instructor/s For more details have a look on their web site. If jobs not on there 2morra info will be availble from the begining of next week. Please dont message me directly im only repeating what ive heard today. Good opportunity though for anyone wanting to get off the tools and into training. No cold starts and decent hols. One of the first things I learnt was to fold my sacks properly and store them in the truck cab so they wouldn't get wet or lost. A sack was an essential bit of kit for a scaffold labourer back then for flagging fittings or for the rope when lowering gear.

One of the first things I learnt was where to get a bar bill, then I got the sack.

Also when you are on the deck pushing 21's up and the scaff's above say hold it just there do not look up the 21, move to one side,
because one of them about to p**s down it.

And quite rightly so a wet sack was only good for letting down on the rope. When the postie would,nt let us have any sacks the pub rule book stated we were quite within our rights to lift a couple of paving slabs and use the controlled lowering down method (b----bing) . Also having a baby,s cot mattress on the back of the lorry always done the trick wife and baby were,nt to pleased mind you but we had to get the job done The Good Old Days ...... my a...se
