This vacancy appeared in my inbox this morning. It would have been ideal for me if much closer to home. I know that Humres have visited my Linkedin page in the past 48 hours and have obviously ruled me out (no phone call). Anyhow - copy and paste as below.

Brief description,

My client is looking for a strong commercial quantity surveyor dealing with applications, variations, and cost control. Through their business acumen and excellent control of costs associated with each contract their aim will be to establish a strong reputation for first class service and reliability. The position of Commercial Manager will require good communication skills and professionalism in dealing with their clients providing Applications and variation build-ups on a regular basis as required by the contract terms and conditions

About the Client:

My client is a fully comprehensive access expert specialising in Scaffolding, Mechanical Access, Rope Access and Steel Work. My client has over 25 years' experience in the industry and turnover £10m annually

About the Role:

* Providing commercial support to Design and Contract Staff
* Reviewing Tender documents and Quotations prepared by the Estimating Department
* Attending Pre-order/Pre-contract meetings and negotiating the best terms for the company
* Reviewing Sub-contracts issued by the Contractors, advising of any onerous terms and conditions prior to final signature and agreement by the Directors
* Visiting sites as necessary to commercially manage the projects
* Preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations

About the Candidate:

* You will have ideally a degree/HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. However, they will also consider candidates relevant experience in Commercial Management in Scaffolding
* You will have high standards of numeracy, oral and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate a capability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively and on own initiative
