Hi lads. Hope ur all ok. Does anybody know if I can renew my part 1. Renewed it once but with things happening with wife I've had to stop scaffolding. My card runs out end of June. Heard whispers I can renew it in exceptional circumstances. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.:worried:
 
Yes you can Jeff you have to appeal to Mr Mosley himself, they are quite particular say about your wife and that you can't find a job etc and he will give you a 12 month extension ;)
 
As far as im aware if you have done ur pt1 course then you can renew it once unless there are exceptional circumstances in which case as long as the pt is booked they will renew it only to last till the course.
if you are working on a pt1 without doing the pt1 course (which a lot of guys do & claim theyre pt1 trained) then you should only get to renew it once & in that 2nd renewal you must have completed the pt2 course.
failure to do this will result in you having to start the whole procedure again -only this time not only do you have to have your h& s touch screen test but also have attended the 1day COTs course. & then its normal time scales again
 
as SP says, you'll have to do your COTS first & touch screen test

is there no one near you that does the training, what about WATA

I have heard a few horror stories of late with a guys card expiring and the scaffs card and number was then deleted
This is a new one for me but it seems that NASC do want their money,but at the same time we do as scaffs need to keep on top of our Card situation:notrust:
 
Copperknackers. I'm 50 in 2 weeks. Hatterscaff the nearest one to me is neta Stockton. That's where I done my original pt 1. My touch screen is still in date got about a year to run on that. But just heard off mates about renewing pt 1 on exceptional circumstances. Hopefully I can do it without shelling out shiit loads of dosh again.
 
I really hope u av Good luck jeff - this will be interesting to follow as ive tried & failed to get it renewed several times for guys, citb dont give a flyin fcuk m8 its just about raising more money for their coffers

Hmmmmmm, being the ripe old age of 50, you might struggle with the funding thing there then old bean :D All you can do is try the exceptional circumstance route. I always say if you don't ask, they can't tell ya to fck off! Hope you get it sorted pal.
 
Jeff if you pop over to Neta, and speak to fran or one of the other trainers tell them about ye circumstances am sure they can give you an extension, no a few lads who have been In the same boat mate.
 
You can always give sarga a ring & ask em if you van swap ur bus pass for a scaff tckt lol;)
