North Yorkshire Police is investigating the theft of a Klargester 2,000 litre grease separator from a hotel in the Stokesley area.

The incident occurred at the site in Hutton Rudby, which is currently under renovation, between 2.30pm on Thursday 12 December and 9am on Friday 13 December 2013.

Due to the size of the yellow fiberglass chamber, valued at £1,200, officers believe a truck with heavy lifting equipment was used to remove it.

PC Blair Taylor, of the Stokesley Safer Neigbourhood Team, said: “This is a significant piece of equipment which tends to be used in large hotel and leisure developments with catering services, rather than in normal housing estates.

“At this stage it is not known in which direction the truck left the site, therefore I am appealing for people throughout the Yorkshire and Humberside and North East regions to come forward with possible sighting or information that could help to locate the grease separator.”

Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Blair Taylor. Or emailblair.taylor@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
