Unusual not wanting cash jobs.
Dont forget though, cheap scaffolds are no good.

Good scaffolds arent cheap.

Have you approached or know any individual scaffolders that may have their own gear?
You would probably get the best price from a lad with no overheads.

Good luck.

Why dont you hire the kit and just pay someone to put it up for you..

No Vat, no insurance, no good not interested.

I would need a few like that to upgrade.

Why would out of 15 only 3 answer?

Strange that alright , nearly all the firms in our yard are drowning with work at the moment , ourselves included , maybe they are to busy to quote , or maybe its because the guy wants to pay in cash , like you say AOM it dont really do a company any favours but saves the customer the VAT

Glad your busy Phil, there are quite a few signs round here that it could be a quiet winter if we are not careful. One of our main clients are cutting wages for the self employed boy's and are starting to think about building on spec to keep their men going which means they see a whole in their order book which means we are all going to be quiet unless we can pick up a bit of specialist work that the hammer monkeys can't get involved in.

It could still be just as tough if we get everything, never fekin happy.:embarrest:

thanks everyone
by the way just because i want a good price and want to go with someone who isnt vat registered doesnt mean they wont have insurance or do a good job (insulting to those who are not) it just means i am not going to contribute to an organisation which has desk jockeys to support.
With it being a cash job all that means is i wont prat someone around with a cheque and they get paid, which as a small business owner is what i would want.

Vat level is quite low, can't think of many who are not registered even the smaller new one's register so they don't pay vat on their material. That's maybe why you only got 1 reply.

19wwy your quite right in what you say , some of the smaller firms will give you a great service and a good price , and because they are small dosent mean they are incapable of doing the job , but looking for a firm that is not VAT registered does very much limit you to the company's you can get quotes from, and would mean you have a bigger chance of employing a cowboy firm

They don't come much smaller than us Phil, we had to register the first year.

we had to register when we where doing Labour only and didnt have a stick of gear , the thresh hold is very low for VAT

When can you start?

Think there is still room on that truck for some more boards Scaffy.
