Just heard they went into liquidation yesterday. Anyone heard anything.

shame if they have not a bad company to work for

was told there were but going under another name.......Haigy supposidly set up already....

thats not unusual in the scaffold world

Working under new name SB Alliance

Company Name SB ALLIANCE SERVICES LIMITED
Company Reg No 07217052
Registered Office 51 CLARKEGROVE ROAD, SHEFFIELD, SOUTH YORKSHIRE, S10 2NH.
Date of Incorporation 08/04/2010

Incorporated back in April under their wives names :blink1: Presumably they'll no longer be NASC members as they won't have 2 years trading accounts :wondering:

Yes this is all very true i can vouch for that as i have worked for them for many years, however unfortunatly im also one of many who were expecting redundacy payoff as they went bust...

very true another one of the nasc members list then

I don't really care whose list they were on, never good to hear any firm going under regardless of the circumstances. Does the government not kick in with regard redundancy payments, you will have to wait a bit but better than a kick in the boll, ocks?

No doubt all the excisting contracts will be taken over by newco

Thats an intresting thought?

Therein lies the big IF. I understand Powertherm had a decent reputation and some good 'blue chip' clients, many of whom require NASC membership to be on their tender lists. If they stand by their guns, then newco shouldn't be allowed to novate any contracts with these clients.

If this is the case, then it should act as a big disincentive to any 'phoenix' scaffold companies.

I'm not 100% sure of the exact sequence of events but I imagine they would. Hopefully there will be someone who knows more about it than me but unfortunately I've seen a few companies go down but the boy's were always sorted eventually.

Good Luck.

When I heard I tried to get in one of their contracts in which this huge client has turned a blind eye on them changing names and service as normal. Disgrace really as they have injury claims against them and very large scaffold hire debts, in which could finish the scaffold hire companies they owe it to. Just shows if you trade by the book and take care of your workers health and safety it means nothing.
