Hello , just joined to this, I did my part 2 final assessment back in 2004 , but the firm I was with at the time conveniently lost my portfolio ! As I never really needed it I never followed it up . I need to get out of the dark ages so I've done another portfolio, but all I have left to do is explain step by step a roof saddle and the last one I erected was about 7 years ago , I no its shameful but can anyone please help? .
 
Ye I no that bud , I could put one up I just wouldn't no how to write it step by step keeping to the safe working practise and how the college would want me to erect it .
 
Yes I paid for an onsite assessment and was then told it wasn't enough so I was sent a portfolio once that was done I have to pay for a one day assessment
 
PM me a fax number,will photocopy my old one and fax it you,is all the same bull ****,they won't know any different.
 
step 1 find the centre of the stack
step 2 centralise the stack in between the tower
step 3 erect your independent up to gutter height creating this lift into access with full ladder access
step 4 create a butrass support from scaffolding to the ground or use hilti ties.
step 5 place your boards across roof trusses @ right angles continuing to raise you tower scaffold as you step in
step 6 truss past the chimney not putting any weight on the ridge tiles you can sit sand bags on ridges to use this to old your needles
step 7 create your square drop down your lacings erect your single handrail then drop down your standards
step 8 complete boarding and toe boards ladder access plus gate
step 9 state that no load must be stacked on the saddle if chimney is being dismantled and all debri an bricks must be moved back to your general purpose scaffolding to be lowered down or stowed safely on your independent if load is not going to exceed your recommended weight on your general purpose scaffolding
this should cover you mate
 
ha ha ha ha,is an awful long time you did it SCC,nothing like that now mate,you have to describe every detail,and also using the step.
 
its about time the tranning centres come into the 21st centry the roof saddle they show you needs a re vamp tower up and beam it job done lol!! same as the putlock needs up dating no good blameing the space get a bigger training centre
 
What about that roof, same thing. Not one bit harder than a part 2 gantry.
