Now correct me if i'm wrong, I see loads of adverts every day asking for scaffolders in all the papers, the job centre and LEP are advertising all day every day for Scaffolders. So why are there people on here moaning that there is no work?

I'll tell you why........If you are good at your job then you will have work. Holding an advanced card means nothing. I only have a part 2 but would pis.s all over half of these 'grandfather rights' carders.

If you are a waster, and we can all spot one a mile off then you have got no chance. Change your career cos its pointless waiting round!!!

Only started this thread cos i'm sick of seeing all these moaning bastar.ds on here expecting a job to fall into their laps. Do the homework, the ringing round and the detective work and you sort yourself out. Don't rely on someone else.

You are correct , most of the lads at this end callin up for work aint worth employing , i like the il cover me money one liner !!!!
 
I know exactly what you mean, i've seen so many tossers over the years and it's plain to see why they aren't in work. I'm not saying i'm the best scaffolder in the world because i'm not. But i do turn up on time every day and I never miss a day, never had a monday off........Well not recently hahaha
 
AGENCY scaffs(waste of time)

you guys are so right,
i have that problem at the moment
i work for a massive firm here in london
they sent me 2 guys from an agency(both part 2's)
cause some muppet in the office booked 3 of my guys on holidays at the same time,so im 3 men down.

the agent wants all the ties changing on the job(84 to be precise)
i showed these guys how to do it
cause they have never used hilti rings with the M16 anchors....
i thought they were joking..but they were not,
great fecking start i thought,i mean who hasn't used them.....or is that a bit harsh
they spent 8hrs on these ties with everything they need at their feet......
can you guess how many they did in 8hrs....fecking 3
what a waste of fecking time
im not a bad foreman(if i do say so myself)
i let all the guys go today to watch england at 2pm and still paid them a full day(if that counts)ha ha

im sure they were nice guys but 3 ties in 8 hrs....no fecking thank you
 
we keeping 20 going , could do with a few more -- its busy and the yards are empty
 
Least they told you they had never used m16 anchors before rather than leaving the building like a bit of swiss cheese with holes everywhere.

Tell ya what forum has been brilliant for me worked at a lifers firm on bridges and didnt know no fooker. Did my offshore surival and got pointed in the right direction off other forum users (cheers chaps you know who you are). If you want a job bad you will get it!!
