hello everyone just done my part two assement today ive been doing the job 7 years what should be the going rate with someone who has that experience:unsure,:

depends who you work for , where you work , whatever agreement you on etc. look at the jobs on here should give you an idea of what rates are paid + where

no offence mate but a ticket dont make you worth anymore its what you can do that makes you worth more , if that makes sense :wondering:

none taken i know that thats why havent bothered doing it for so long but i put a good shift in and can do the job just started for new company and asked in interview if my money will go up when i get part two done because been limited to street work for them and was wondering what to ask for when i ask for rise

I think that's the way it should be Phil, but unfortunately there would be uproar from the unions and the carded boys.

very true scaffman but we do nearly all street work and as you know a ticket do mean nothing , if you a HGV and can get the job done dont matter if you got a basic part 1 or an advanced you will get better money. Some of these lads need to go on price work and find out just what there worth

Yep your right there phil price either makes you or breaks you. Probably the only good thing about price work.

i worked on price my whole life till i started my company 16 years ago and it does teach you how to earn money

Ive Worked Price Work All My Life Almost (Last Time I Worked An Hourly Rate Was 1992) When You Have Worked Price Work For This Length Of Time It Becomes Second Nature.

My old boss said experience counts for nothing these days. That went down well with the lad who had part 1 been doing it for 18 years and his mate who'd been doing it 2 and a half years just got his part 2. the part 1 left him the part 2 to it and he managed 30' all day and did it wrong!

hard to get a price now with all the new regs and safety methods esp on the larger scale jobs.

which is better it keeps more of us fellow scaffs employed just for the sake of chilling out a bit and it gives young people a chance to learn, improve and pick things up off the experianced men

i agree with you mate but youll always get a divided opinion on this as many many guys prefer price,i just think its not an option with all the safety that we have now.

i agree every one will be on hourly rate the way its going with sg10

yeah 110 its a good rate but you have to run before you can walk so if your worth your salt and can do anything thats in front of you then go for it

so the sg notices not only govern the way we work but have all but determined the money we earn........surely this is wrong.
