passport to safety ticket

well ive started the withdrawal of my scaff tickets,im going to let them lapse and get out of scaffolding all together.
the reason being ,that over the past three months ive been messed about by the training centre in Bolton,envico training.
they advertise courses from £150 ,and higher.i paid for one and got a date.
fair does there.then waited a month ,for them to ring me the Friday before I take said course,to say that no one else was on it,so I couldn't take it.
then they offered to put me on one of the more expencive courses for another £50.telling me that all the other courses were getting booked up fast,well I don't need people p issing on my head ,and telling me its raining,to know a scam when I see one,i told them ive paid for a course for £150,and that's what I expect,so they said I was booked on one the following month.next Monday and Tuesday,guess what,the course has been cancelled as all the people going on it(cheaper course)had cancelled it,so there again I was on my own.i demanded my money back,and I cant be bothered with this kind of crap any more.

Nothing in life is free...better to pay the normal rate through a citb skills course,& know what ur getting rather then try the cheep route & get ripped off

whats so annoying numbnuts the passport to safety ticket is just the same as the cscs ticket just a few more questions and videos to make the course last longer if this ticket is just for powerplants why is the cisrs ticket more a street work course!!!! cscs should be a reconised passport ticket and its 100% cheaper and you only need a hour of your time not 2 days with lost wages

Exactly...the only reason i did mine was the fact i got a tax rebate, and that i had a few spare days holiday so i never lost anything. But i wouldnt redo it out of my pocket, its a two do course just going into more detail about shiit we already know. Surely thats what a site induction should cover!!!!

The amount of courses and manditory training is getting pretty tedious and expensive , the safety passport being a prime example . I know guys who have worked offshore on potential bombs for years and are then asked "do you have a passport to safety " c`mon a one hour induction should suffice it did for years but no money or scams in simple inductions , this is were a decent union should be fighting the working mans corner but to be honest they are probably in on it .
