Ive been scaffolding for 1 year now, doing the usual Labouring, ive just done my part 1 ticket, and found it quite hard, didnt realise how much theory was involved, but never the less i passed.Ive not got much experience (SPANNER TIME ) should all part 1's be able to do the job????? one lad on my course had like 7 years on the job !!! just **** when you keep making little mistakes and have to re-do everything !!:sad2: aghhhhhh frustration !

what did you do on ya part 1 am guessing 13 ft independant small bird cage and prob summat wiv a return n maybe tying knots?? well done for passin the course but sounds like u need spanner time as u say!! your prob still not gunna get to do much in the way of erecting but take any given opportunity!!! you say u make silly mistakes i find the best way to not mess up is to have 5 mins thinkin time before u kick the job off see the problems before they arise. scaffolding can look technical but basic jobs [which is wot ur qualified to do] is all boxes and triangles!!! good luck with ur future in the game n try remember this use ur head n not ur back!!!!

hi tez
everyone has to learn mate just keep at you want to find a gang you can get to stay with and get them to help you

Tez dont take this wrong mate but you dont no anything yet , my youngest son 17 has been humping gear for a year now as is just about humble enough to start fixing and go to the C.I.T.B , it will take you about 10 years to really know your stuff.what you learn on your courses is the basic knowledge and theory that you will adapt to suit every job you do in the future.
Good luck mate : )
