out of country jobs

i've been off-shore now for two years and have decided to have a look out of country for work.
the thing is even though i've been on the tools for over 20 years and the director of a company in south wales, companys only seem to put ads out for men with the certain cards what happened to the good old days when you could get a job by your expirence not what card you got.
cause i know one thing i have come across alot of boys with all the cards you can get and i wouldn't trust them to carry gear let alone fix-it.
anyway sorry about my little rant, what i would like to know if any one can help? is there anyway i could be excepted for any of these jobs on just my expirence alone?

Hi Sparkesy. I know where your coming from, but unfortunetly the answer is no. thats the way the industry is gone now. You can have all the experience to do the job, but as proof of competentcy you must have the ticket. If a firm takes you on without the relevant ticket and an accident were to occur to yourself or anybody else, their in the s##t. They could be sued by you even it was your negligence that contributed to the accident by claiming that you were not properly trained in safety requirements etc. The ticket is the proof that you were, It dosent make you a better scaffolder but it gives the employer a better degree of protection in such events. Also HSE and Insurance companies require it.

Brandy thanks for that, it just looks like i'm going to have to spend my hard earned cash on my advanced an supervisors course instead of the amber necter lol
 
whats hapanin Damian hows things mate,your right what your saying the worst thing that happend to this game was the cisrs,they give them to any ****,to many blaggers out there taking jobs from us time served scaffs, been looking for jobs abroad but seems you have to have superviser card.its boollocks
 
yea make you guys right met lad 7years in the game part1 part2 advance supervisor card saftey inspection ticket pmsl 7years????????and you gussed it yes all he did was labour.
 
If you've been offshore 2 yrs you must have got a least part 2 ? so whats the problem ? cards are the same in most jobs, you have to have them to work or further your career...
