Oil platform evacuated as severe weather hits Scotland

Just been talking to one of the lads in the helliport. It is his 8th day today trying to getboff. Unlucky that ha ha ha. Mind you im now on day 2.

I find that quite strange as you get 80 mph winds off Shetland for 3 months every year and the whole of Scotland has been battered by these same winds for a month now.

Weaverbix, I think 5 or 6 days was the most I have ever spent in that heliport, longest days of my life. I think 4 days was the longest I spent fogged on which is worse.

The Buchan Alpha is a sister vessel of the Alexander L. Kielland. This may explain why their safety case is as it is.

That does explain it a bit. I did wonder about the anchor chains as this must be a concern.

I worry I have checked back in today and they have no chopper for us. Bonus ha ha ha. Aom I have spent 4 days in scotia before with 6am check ins and bumped at 7.30 pm. Can sympathise with you on that one. Doy 2 today.

The only crumb of comfort is you are on the right side of the water. After a bit though, you just want to get out there and get on with it.

What's the craic, it's a fine day here for a change, is it weather keeping you there or something else?
