Thinking of doing my survival and yes I know it can be a pain in arse getting on ,but does any one know what pay you get a week or for the 2 week your away for ?,is it worth doing ?? Cheers lads

You should be taking home anything from £2400
-£3100 with overtime , not great I know !!

don't forget it has to last you for 4wks so if get 2500 to 2800 that's months money. but you only work 5or6 months for 25000 30000k

14 on 14 off still leaves 2or 3 days of the month say ur on overtime at 300 a day thts nearly an extra grand a month . a month ur clearing 3000 or 3400/3600 with overtime . first 7 months of tax year I earned 38k after getting notice and holidays payed out .should get a start bak dec/jan . better than working on the street but u can make more money on stations etc fab yards if u work all year but most boys work offshore for the time off not the money !

Offshore

Gettin a start can be a pain in the arse but when u get ur foot in the door ur laughing. Earning potential can vary from company to company depending what field your situated in as the wage structure is made up from either day rate or hours and then you have your field break and uplift on top. I'm on about £300 a day all in so for a 14day trip I clear around £2900 (after tax and including travel expenses) £4200 top line for 14days. If u land a steady slot that's £50,000 a year for 11 trips (22weeks) as you have 4 weeks annual holiday. Good luck if u give the survival a bash mate I heard from a lad that's not long started survivex are doing BOSIET and MIST for £550 including vat. Hope this helps

cheers rick but Aberdeen 406miles away from me Norwich petans said there a charity and still £1020 for survival and mist, but thanks for info anyways,i did 17yrs offshore with duffy&Mcgoven ASL and salamis,7yrs being off Aberdeen.maybe take it again cos jobs onshore at min crap

I'm another one who wants to try and get offshore but I would be jacking in a job I've had for 6 years to do it. The site I'm on is blue book but the overtime has died and the bits that do come off get given to the same faces. Do any of you lads know what the work outlook is like for next year and in your opinion would it be worth jumping to give it a go?

Right place, right time and some good luck.

Good old Scruffy Duffys hey Stephen

Thinking about doing my survival next year as the time off will allow me to have a better family life. What is the chance of a part 2 with 8yrs experience gettin offshore realistically? Don't want to waste a grand that's all. Thanks for any help you can give me lads pm if you want cheers

I know a couple of people who could 'have a word' just wouldnt want to jump for a couple of trips. If it's right about that boiset and mist for 550 then I suppose it's a decent time to make a move.

Check survivex's website lads to confirm but I know a lad who's on BOSIET an MIST this week an he told me he paid £550 all in. I done mine @ survivex few years back an didn't have much change from a grand. Gettin a start is a fookin nightmare tho lads a ain't gonna lie, started my venture in the Dutch sector which was pretty sh1t (u need a VCA exam for this sector) I used to live in holland so already had this it's their equivalent of a CCNSG costs €250 an lasts 10 years but is essential for Dutch sector along with BOSIET, MIST and preferably an advanced card. Once u have a few trips under your belt you stand a far better chance with cape/stork/salamis Good luck lads just keep tryin em for a start

Just checked, it's 599 inc vat all in until 31/12/13 but you need to take the course before the end of jan 14 so I guess it's just a case of ring up for availability.
